Signs of Spring


We are so excited that there are signs of spring around us! Little buds are starting to come out on the trees....the grass is starting to grow again...and occasional warm days are helping us to get out of the house. The kids love being outside. This is a picture of them on the porch sharing the rocking chair. Elijah is saying, "aaaahhh" and Makayla is obviously amused.

Hey Heather! Ok, it is such a small world! Did you grow up in Abilene? It seems like I knew that but had forgotten. Yes, that's Joe Temple. He and Jason are long time friends. Jason grew up in Abilene too. How funny that you know Joe!

Your kids are adorable! Those blue eyes! I'm enjoying keeping up with you in the blog-o-sphere. Isn't it fun to see the different journeys God has laid out for us...who would have guessed it when we were all hanging out at Travis and SWBTS.

Sharing my Secrets...

Can I be honest and let you in on a personal secret?  Promise not to judge?  OK, here it is, prayer lists are challenging for me.  I know, how unspiritual is that?  Line after line of the teen who is going to be taking his driving test next Tuesday, the parent who wants her precious, sensitive daughter to land the lead role in the school play or the hip surgery for Grandma Jane.  (Grandma, Grammy, Grandmother or whatever you call her is probably ready to come and kick my shins for vocalizing it… and she probably will once she gets full use of her legs again.)  There are also those prayer requests with a more “spiritual” side like praying for the missionaries who are living in pray-for-them-again-astan.  Am I the only one that struggles with prayer lists?   Can I be honest and let you in on a personal secret?  Promise not to judge?  (yes, I started two paragraphs in a row with the same two sentences)  OK, here it is, I als...
